Roach wants a desktop (things to consider)

Want to get a gaming desktop that I build (or buy parts and have put together). Expecting to drop about 1500 or so and want performance. Any help with suggestions is appreciated. Thanks.

the amd video card is better than the nvidia with the exception of physx but unless you play games that utilize physx its useless. this is the best system you will buy for 1500

          Tank,
I ordered the case you recommended and went with what I think is a little better motherboard. Well it costs more so... Im posting what I got and hopefully it is compatible. Anyone is welcome to critique what I got and what I'm doing cuz I appreciate the feedback. Peace brothers!

              - video card - pretty good card. you will be able to max out BO2. I have a 7950 double D which is only slightly better than yours, and I can max everything. Though it will be able to run the extra-high textures, I wouldn't because it takes a long time to load matches when the game is installed on a regular hard drive. If you install the game to your SSD, then I'd max out the textures.
              - power supply - don't know how many watts you actually need but 850 will surely be enough. you might have overpaid.
              - RAM - fuck you roach. you dont need god damn 16 jigabytes of fucking RAM!!! black ops 2 maxed out, plus an idling operating system, uses less than 4 GBs. RAM is only important when you start offloading it to your hard drive when you run out of it.
              - processor - good - same performance as an i5 3450 but better value.
              - liquid cooler - probably don't need it unless you want to overclock.
              - SSD good price but you could have gotten a better one if you didn't overspend on ram (maybe power supply too) and wouldn't have bought a liquid cooler.

It will be fast though. good thing you can send back parts to exchange them if you want.

                Thanks berg

Thanks berg for the input. Greatly appreciated. I think I will do as you advised and send back the liquid cooler and the SSD and upgrade that. I am not interested in overclocking because truthfully I do not know what that is good for and it is probably something I do not want to mess with at this time. Maybe in the future. As far as the video card I supposed I could upgrade later or purchase another one and run 2 video cards. I doubt I will have to but I am learning so we shall see. I am teaching myself all this stuff from the ground up and watching videos and talking with you guys helps me out greatly. I want to post pics from the build as well and let you know how it goes.
                So in summary
                -Return liquid cooling
                -Return SSD
                -Upgrade SSD
-Im keeping the RAM. You never know is my logic.
-Still gotta get a keyboard but I dont wanna over internet. Would rather see and feel one that I am to purchase.

Again thank you so much to everyone for your help and knowledge. Keep rockin' brothers.:dance3:

                  1. if you're not going to get the liquid cooler at least get an upgraded air cooler since the stock coolers that come with that cpu are shit. I recommend http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835103089 as I've used it in a previous build until I upgraded to Liquid cooling. or if you really want the top of the line air cooler get this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835608018 .and liquid cooling isn't just for overclocking, its for stability and consistency. just remember to clean out the cpu cooler frequently as air coolers collect a lot more dust than liquid coolers which will make them run significantly hotter if not attended to.

2.Don't go with that Thermaltake PSU. they aren't really known for their quality as I have actually had a Thermaltake psu burn out on me in the past less than 3 months after purchasing it. also you dont really need an 850 watt psu unless you're planning on running crossfire at most you'll need with a single video card setup is a 650. if you insist on going with an 850 go with this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817139011 its corsair, its highly rated, and its cheaper. always go corsair with your psu. I have an XFX psu because I won it in a competition.

                  3. as for the MB, there is not much in a difference of the motherboard i picked and you did but if you're going to upgrade at least go with the most recent version http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131969

                  4. I don't fully understand why you downgraded the Video card when it is the most important part of a gaming rig. just saying. and there is a HUGE difference between the 7850 and the 7970. you get about a 25-30% boost in preformance with the 7970 over the 7850. remember its not about will it run these current games. its will it run all the games 2-3 years down the road.

                  5. As for keyboards the Razer Blackwidow, Logitech G19, and the Microsoft Sidewinder x4 are some of the best keyboards out right now. I personally have the Tt eSports Challenger Pro and have no problems with it in the past 3 years of owning it. except the macro keys are a pain in the ass to set up.

                  6. if you really want an upgrade to your ssd get this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820147190. a lil pricey but you will be able to fit all your games on it and still have room to spare.

                  7. I still recommend getting the cpu I chose as the AMD FX-8350 has a 30% boost in power over the AMD FX-6300 as in cpu mark the AMD FX-6300 scored a 6,448 and the 8350 scored a 9,142. even just jumping up to the 8320 will give you a 20% boost in power

I've been building computers for about 5 years now, I do know a little bit of what I'm talking about.

                    Thanks Tank

                    OK man.
Im gonna keep the liquid cooling. You got me convinced.
I know I probably made some mistakes but I was afraid of going overboard on the $$. Plus I am worried about things being compatible. Ive always been a hard head and I guess im gonna have to learn some lessons in this endeavor.
I guess the good thing is I can upgrade things down the road if need be and that seems a little less painful that a big outlay of cash at one time. If the PSU craps out on me I will go with Corsair like you recommend.
Thank you so much for the information, I really am greatful for the help. Believe me I keep referring back to this thread for help. Can't wait to get this thing going.

Everyone has to get started somewhere. I'm just trying to help. and if you were worried about the $ you shouldve just went with the original parts i suggested as it was all in your budget. also I forgot to put in a dvd drive in your build http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827106289 dont forget one of those. I suggest when you take out the top fan to mount the radiator that you mount that fan on the side panel as an intake fan. it will help with the cooling of your video card.
